c286241ab3 gossipd: switch over to using gossmap_manage, not routing.c.
The gossip_store_load is now basically a noop, since gossmap
does that.

gossipd removes a pile of routines dealing with messages,
in favor of just handing them to gossmap_manage.

The stub gossmap_manage constructor is removed entirely.

We simplified behaviour around channel_announcements with
no channel update: we now add them to the store, and go
back to fix the timestamp later.  This changes a test,
which explicitly tests for the old behaviour.

70811f7ed1 gossipd: make the seeker code use gossmap_manage.
We add a temporary stub gossmap_manage constructor, which simply opens
the gossmap and doesn't do anything else.

Then seeker uses this, rather than routing.c, to probe.

We optimize our "get random node announcements" a bit by traversing a
random set of nodes directly, and seeing if we have no
node_announcement, then querying their first channel.

66574882a3 gossipd: simplify seeker startup.
Most nodes don't really care about exact timestamps on gossip filters,
so just keep a flag on whether we have anything in the gossip_store,
and use that to determine whether we ask peers for everything.

17e0c057aa gossipd: don't use peer softrefs for gossip credit.
We use a "softref" which is a magic pointer which gets NULL'ed when
the object is freed.  But it's heavy, and a bit tricky to use, and we
only use it in gossipd.

Instead, keep the nodeid, and do a lookup (now that's fast) if we want
to credit the sender for valid gossip.

3babbc5201 opts: announce-addr-discovered on/off/auto switch
This adds the option to explicitly enable ip-discovery, which maybe
helpful for example when a user wants TOR announced along with
discovered IPs to improve connectivity and have TOR just as a fallback.

a1f62ba0e7 gossipd: don't close non-local channels immediately, add 12 block delay.
This adds a new "chan_dying" message to the gossip_store, but since we
already changed the minor version in this PR, we don't bump it again.

532544ce4f gossipd: rename remote_addr to discovered_ip within gossipd
This is cleaner because, the `remote_addr` and `discovered_ip` are
related but two different things.

Within connectd and lightningd we use the peers `remote_addr` feature
to validate (and guess a port) to be used for IP discovery.

Also when a peer reports us a `remote_addr`, this is given to the plugin API
via the `peer_connected` hook. The network port here is not modified for
godd reason! This can be used i.e. to detect if we are behind a NAT.

But once lightningd figures enough peers report the same `remote_addr`,
it sets the port to the selected network and tells gossipd to use that for
`node_announcement` updates.

Hence, within gossipd, there is no (should not be) `remote_addr`.

67fdc6f8ad gossipd: send updated node_annoucement remote_addr
This is the cheapest algo I came up with that simply checks that the
same `remote_addr` has been report by two different peers. Can be
improved in many ways:

 - Check by connecting to a radonm peers in the network
 - Check for more than two confirmations or a certain fraction
 - ...

93c00cc07d gossipd: force a fresh node_announcement every 24 hours.
Even if nothing has changed.  Note that this is different from simply
re-xmitting the old one, in that it has a different timestamp, so others
will re-xmit it too.

This is a side-effect of reports that node_announcement propagation
through the network is poor:

0aad222c2d gossipd: rewrite update generation, remove local_chan.
local_chan was mainly around so we could "soft" disable channels (and
really disable them once we used the channel_update in an error
message).

Instead we introduce the idea of a "deferred_update": it's either
deferred indefinitely (a peer goes offline, if we need to send it in
an error we'll apply it immediatly), or simply delayed to avoid
spamming everyone.

The resulting rewrite is much clearer, IMHO.

9224d9a500 gossipd: use modern 'sync_complete' field.
We assume if they set this to 0 (which nobody did previously), they're
using it as a modern flag and use it to indicate when they're
finished.  Otherwise, we count how many blocks they've sent and use
that to determine whether they've finished.

It's not (yet?) compulsory to have the timestamps, but handing them around
together makes sense (a missing timestamp has the same effect as a zero
timestamp).

59f23bf23c gossipd: use straight counter instead of bitmap for query_channel_range replies.
The spec (since d4bafcb67dcf1e4de4d16224ea4de6b543ae73bf in March
2020) requires that reply_channel_range be in order (and all
implementations did this anyway).

But when I tried this, I found that LND doesn't (always) obey this,
since don't divide on block boundaries.  So we have to loosen the
constraints here a little.

We got rid of the old LND compat handling though, since everyone should
now be upgraded (there are CVEs out for older LNDs).

ca53c1b699 gossipd: push our own gossip messages harder.
I had a report of a 0.7.2 user whose node hadn't appeared on 1ml.  Their
node_announcement wasn't visible to my node, either.

I suspect this is a consequence of recent version reducing the amount of
gossip they send, as well as large nodes increasingly turning off gossip
altogether from some peers (as we do).  We should ignore timestamp filters
for our own channels: the easiest way to do this is to push them out
directly from gossipd (other messages are sent via the store).

We change channeld to wrap the local channel_announcements: previously
we just handed it to gossipd as for any other gossip message we received
from our peer.  Now gossipd knows to push it out, as it's local.

This interferes with the logic in tests/test_misc.py::test_htlc_send_timeout
which expects the node_announcement message last, so we generalize
that too.

869b5e40b5 gossipd: simplify seeker state machine.
We eliminate the "need peer" states and instead check if the
random_peer_softref has been cleared.

We can also unify our restart handlers for all these cases; even the
probe_scids case, by giving gossip credit for the scids as they come
in (at a discount, since scids are 8 bytes vs the ~200 bytes for
normal gossip messages).

521c7f7121 seeker: take over gossip control.
The seeker starts by asking a peer (the first peer!) for all gossip
since a minute before the modified time of the gossip store.

This algorithm is enhanced in successive patches.

0091300ee3 gossipd: track what peer gave us gossip msgs so we can credit it.
Since we have to validate, there can be a delay (and peer might
vanish) between receiving the gossip and actually confirming it, hence
the use of softref.

We will use this information to check that the peers are making progress
as we start asking them for specific information.

fd2d74aa9b gossipd: defer asking about txouts until we're synced or they're 6 deep.
The first one means we don't discard channels just because we're not
synced, and the second is implied by the spec: don't accept
channel_announcement if the channel isn't 6 deep.  Since LND defers in
such cases, we do too (unless it's newer than the current block, in
which case we simply discard).  Otherwise there's a risk that a slow
node might discard valid gossip.

6f9c5f2936 gossipd: get fed the blockheight from lightningd when we know it.
This will let gossipd be more intelligent about gossiping before we're
synced, and also it might know how far behind we are.

147eaced2e developer: consolidiate gossip timing options into one --dev-fast-gossip.
It's generally clearer to have simple hardcoded numbers with an
#if DEVELOPER around it, than apparent variables which aren't, really.

Interestingly, our pruning test was always kinda broken: we have to pass
two cycles, since l2 will refresh the channel once to avoid pruning.

Do the more obvious thing, and cut the network in half and check that
l1 and l3 time out.
