Changelog-None: only just committed
Be more graceful in shutting down: this should fix the issue where
bookkeeper gets upset that its commands are rejected during shutdown,
and generally make things more graceful.
1. Stop any new RPC connections.
2. Stop any per-peer daemons (channeld, etc).
3. Shut down plugins.
4. Stop all existing RPC connections.
5. Stop global daemons.
6. Free up peer, chanen HTLC datastructures.
7. Close database.

Changelog-Changed: Plugins: RPC operations are now still available during shutdown.
If you get the wrong hsm_secret, your node_id will change, and
peers won't know who you are, bitcoind will reject your transaction
signatures, and other madness.
Catch this as soon as it happens, by storing our node_id in the db.

Changelog-Changed: Config: `lightningd` will refuse to start with the wrong node_id (i.e. hsm_secret changes).
We have them split over common/param.c, common/json.c,
common/json_helpers.c, common/json_tok.c and common/json_stream.c.
Change that to:
* common/json_parse (all the json_to_xxx routines)
* common/json_parse_simple (simplest the json parsing routines, for cli too)
* common/json_stream (all the json_add_xxx routines)
* common/json_param (all the param and param_xxx routines)

That's useful for "tell me everything about this node" debugging.

Fixes: #5348
Changelog-Added: lightningd: `log-level=debug:<partial-nodeid>` supported to get debug-level logs for everything about a peer.
Activate means a specific thing now (connectd said something), so avoid
confusing it with this function.

We want to stream gossip through this, but currently connectd treats the
fd as synchronous. While we work on getting rid of that, it's easiest to
have two fds.
Signed-off-by: Rusty Russell <rusty@rustcorp.com.au>
We now let gossipd do it.
This also means there's nothing left in 'struct per_peer_state' to
send across the wire (the fds are sent separately), so that gets
removed from wire messages too.

connectd is going to end up using this do demux; make it fast and complete.
Fixing this reveals a problem in openingd: it now extracts the channel_id
from funding_signed (which is where we transition off the temporary), and
gets upset. So fix that.

Get rid of the 'movement_idx', since we replay events now.
Since we're removing a field from the 'coin_movement' event emission, we
bump the version type.
Changelog-Updated: `coin_movements` events have been revamped and are now on version 2.
And turn "" includes into full-path (which makes it easier to put
config.h first, and finds some cases check-includes.sh missed
previously).
config.h sets _GNU_SOURCE which really needs to be done before any
'#includes': we mainly got away with it with glibc, but other platforms
like Alpine may have stricter requirements.

Not necessary yet, but it will be once shutdown starts waiting for
plugins to respond: we don't want these to try to access the bcli
plugin once it's freed.

It's a legacy from when it didn't have an ld pointer to access ld's
timer structure. Now it's just confusing.

This is in line with the warnings draft, where all-zeroes in a
channel_id is no longer special (i.e. it will be ignored).
But gossipd would send these if it got upset with us, so it's best
practice to ignore them for now anyway.

Changelog-Added: Protocol: we treat error messages from peer which refer to "all channels" as warnings, not errors.
This avoids duplication of both logic and error-prone values, such as
the salt. Grouping all hsm encryption logic into a public API will also
allow us to fuzz it.

dual funding needs the max-witness-len and utxo fields set for every
input. we should add them when we create a 'fundpsbt', so that every
psbt that c-lightning generates is dual-funding ready
we're about to add a migration that requires access to the bip32_key
in order to calculate missing scriptpubkeys.
prior to this patch, we don't have access to the bip32 key in the db
migration, as it's set on the wallet but after the db migrations are
run.
here we patch it through so that every migration can access it
We're going to use the hsm for a migration, so we need to set up the HSM
before we get to the wallet migration code.
All that this requires is removing the places in HSM init that we touch
the database struct -- easy enough to accomplish by passing the required
field back out from init, and then associating it onto the wallet after
it's been initialized.
This will allow the dynamic starting code to use them too.
Also lets us move dev_debug_subprocess under #if DEVELOPER.

We use the new function `plugins_free` to define the correct deallocation
order on shutdown, since under normal operation the allocation tree is
organized to allow plugins to terminate and automatically free all dependent
resources. During shutdown the deallocation order is under-defined since
siblings may get freed in any order, but we implicitly rely on them staying
around.
common/onion is going to need to use this for the case where it finds a blinding
seed inside the TLV. But how it does ecdh is daemon-specific.
We already had this problem for devtools/gossipwith, which supplied a
special hsm_do_ecdh(). This just makes it more general.
So we create a generic ecdh() interface, with a specific implementation
which subdaemons and lightningd can use.
Signed-off-by: Rusty Russell <rusty@rustcorp.com.au>
Turns out that unnecessary: all callers can access the feature_set,
so make it much more like a normal primitive.

Now that we have json_stream in common/, we can move all the related
helpers from lightningd/json to common/json. This way everyone can
benefit of them (including libplugin, the plugins themselves,
potentially lightning-cli), not lightningd alone!
Note that the Makefile of the common/test/ had to be modified, because
the new helpers make use of common/wireaddr... Which turns out to
\#include <lightingd/lightningd.h> ! So we couldnt just include the .c
and add mocks if we redefined some structs (hello run-param).
Changelog-Added: lightningd: Added --subdaemon command to allow alternate subdaemons.
[ Wow, that was mammoth; 44 comments over 12 commits. Feels almost unfair to squash it into one commit, so I wanted to note @ksedgwic's perseverence here! --RR ]
This is needed to fully implement handling of blockheight disagreements
between us and payee.
If payee believes the blockheight is higher than ours, then `pay`
should wait for our node to achieve that blockheight.
Changelog-Add: Implement `waitblockheight` to wait for a specific blockheight.
This is a transient field, so rework things so we don't leave it in
struct htlc_out. Instead, load htlc_in first and connect htlc_out to
them as we go.
This also changes one place where we use it instead of the am_origin
flag.

This simplifies our tests, too, since we don't need a magic option to
enable io logging in subdaemons.
Note that test_bad_onion still takes too long, due to a separate minor
bug, so that's marked and left dev-only for now.

This allows finegrained logging control of particular subdaemons or
subsystems.
To do this, we defer setting the logging levels for each log object
until after early argument parsing (since e.g. "bitcoind" log object
is created early).
Signed-off-by: Rusty Russell <rusty@rustcorp.com.au>
Changelog-changed: Options: log-level can now specify different levels for different subsystems.
1. Printed form is always "[<nodeid>-]<prefix>: <string>"
2. "jcon fd %i" becomes "jsonrpc #%i".
3. "jsonrpc" log is only used once, and is removed.
4. "database" log prefix is use for db accesses.
5. "lightningd(%i)" becomes simply "lightningd" without the pid.
6. The "lightningd_" prefix is stripped from subd log prefixes, and pid removed.

Changelog-changed: Logging: formatting made uniform: [NODEID-]SUBSYSTEM: MESSAGE
Changelog-removed: `lightning_` prefixes removed from subdaemon names, including in listpeers `owner` field.
